Imana Wild Ride Daily Report – Stage 2

Stage Two of the Imana Wild Ride set off from Kob Inn under clouded skies and a chilly breeze as riders made their way to The Haven, some thirty-five kilometres further up the coastline.

Damon Stamp and Andrew Houston extended their overall lead, taking the win in a time of one hour, fifty-six minutes and 34 sec – just under ten minutes clear of second placed Craig Woods and Oli Munnik with the father-son team of Warren and Seth Price taking third.

Monique Engela and Mark Olivier were the first mixed team home but Penni and Steven Hirst retain their overall lead in this category.

The relatively short stage does not reflect the difficulty of the terrain and proved far more challenging than most riders expected, with some very steep hills and several muddy sections through the Dwesa Nature Reserve after the overnight rains. The last team arrived at the finish in five hours and thirty-five minutes.
